Supergirl: Being Super 1 (February 2017)

Kristin Harmon and Johnny Crawford star in THE RESURRECTION OF BRONCHO BILLY, directed by James R. Rokos for Universal Pictures.

Supergirl: Being Super #1Being Super gets off to an excellent start. Mariko Tamaki’s script is slow to reveal the particulars of this version, instead focusing on the character experiencing high school and her sixteenth birthday. There’s also the great Joëlle Jones art and creates this wonderfully detailed Midvale high school world. It’s an awesome comic.

  1. This approach with Kara works while Tamaki’s direction with Kate’s Hawkeye doesn’t. There’s just more of a feel of honesty here, where Tamaki seems to just get into Kara’s head more. My only gripe is that this comic is saddled with a $6 price tag, which will greatly limit it’s distribution. It really should be read.
