Can’t say the identity of the other undercover FBI agent is much of a surprise. The way Aaron set it up, there weren’t any suspects. Once again, his weak attempt at a reveal cliffhanger sends a good issue off on weak footing.
This issue, which is maybe the most action-packed issue of Scalped yet (so action-packed realism gets strained), juxtaposes interestingly with the previous one. Even though Aaron goes out of the way to be sensitive to the other FBI agent, there’s no compassion like with Red Crow. It’s too soon to tell if it’s because Red Crow’s just naturally sympathetic or if undercover FBI man is just a bad guy so Aaron isn’t taking the time.
He also can’t hold up all the gimmick plot point threads. They’re getting progressively weaker without any substantial foundation.
Aaron must have one hell of a white board to keep track.
