Why does Aaron feel the need for these lame cliffhangers? He takes a perfectly great scene with Red Crow flipping out about Gina’s death and turns it into a pseudo-ominous cliffhanger. It’s rather upsetting, especially after how he paces the rest of the issue.

Aaron doesn’t worry about pacing out his big reveals this arc. Dash doesn’t just find out Diesel’s an FBI agent, he also learns his handler knows he’s a psycho killer–and the reader learns Dash will always be the sacrificial lamb, not Diesel. It’s a lot of information, which Aaron inexplicably follows up with Dash beating up his truck for a couple pages.

It’s emotionally honest and Guera’s art is good, but two pages? It feels a little like filler, especially when Aaron then skips ahead too many hours.

Scalped is such a good book, any hiccup feels like an earthquake. Too many hiccups here.
